Medical Laboratory Technician

Medical Laboratory Technician

Medical laboratory technicians/technologists perform laboratory tests that play a crucial role in the detection, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. MLTs perform a variety of analyses on blood and other specimens. They look for bacteria and other microorganisms; analyze the chemical content of fluids; count cells and look for abnormal cells in blood and bodily fluids; crossmatch blood for transfusions; and test for drug levels in the blood that indicates response to treatment.

An MLT’s role is to provide timely, accurate laboratory results in medical labs at hospitals, doctor’s offices and reference labs.

果冻传媒’s five-semester program involves comprehensive coursework, on-campus laboratory training and clinical education. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded an Associate in Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology.

National surveys indicate a need for qualified MLT’s throughout the country. Over the past three years, 100 percent of the graduates from 果冻传媒’s MLT program earned positions in local medical facilities.

Background checks will be required upon admission into the program.
